Copyright & takedown
Last updated 14 October 2026
We respect the work of game makers. This page explains what we host, what you supply yourself, and how rights holders can reach us.
What we host
- Third-party games: offered only when their licence or rights holder allows it. They are served unmodified. Each game's licence and source are shown on its page and on the credits page.
- Engines: open-source software such as Ruffle, js-dos, doom-wasm, WasmBoy and RetroArch, used unmodified under their licences at pinned versions. The credits page and each game's Sources panel link the source code of every engine build we load, including the GPL-licensed ones.
- Emulator cores: because the site may carry advertising, we only use engines and cores whose licences allow commercial use.
What we don't host
Some games, such as DOOM, run on files you download from their makers or already own. We link to the official download page and never host those files. Please only use files you have the right to use.
Some games may load files from other websites. The Sources panel on each game page always shows where every file comes from. If you believe an external file infringes your rights, please also contact the site hosting it.
Sending a takedown notice
If you believe something on wasmga.me infringes your copyright, email copyright@wasmga.me with:
- your name, address, telephone number and email address;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
- the URL of the page (and, if you can, the file listed in its Sources panel) that you believe infringes it;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf;
- your physical or electronic signature.
These requirements follow the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and work for notices under the EU Digital Services Act and similar laws. We aim to act on complete notices within two working days, usually by removing or disabling the material, and we'll let the person who supplied it know where we can.
Counter-notices
If material you supplied was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address with: your contact details; identification of the material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court; and your signature. We may restore the material after 10 to 14 working days unless the original complainant tells us they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
We will close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe others' rights.
