    Overview

Lasers is a simple Ikaruga-like game for the Arduboy: switch the character's color and have it be hit with same color ray. Laser emitters drift across the screen sweeping long white and black rays around. A ray of your own colour is absorbed for points, while a ray of the other colour drains your power.

It is one of OBONO's mini games for the Arduboy, catalogued as OBN-Y07 and released in February 2019.

    How it works

    Your colour
White or black; every game starts white
    Same colour ray
Stops at you and gives 1 point for each frame it touches you
    Other colour ray
Takes 6 power for each frame it touches you
    Power
The small number by your character, out of 100; it refills by itself, from empty to full in about 17 seconds
    Score
Also rises by about 7 points a second once the first laser has appeared
    Lasers
A new one every 1.5 seconds at first, speeding up to one every half second after about four minutes; up to 12 at once
    Colour mix
The game keeps white and black lasers roughly even
    Record
Best 10 scores, play count and total play time; a game you quit from the pause menu is not recorded

    Tips

    1. Rays of your own colour are where the points are: a second inside one is worth 60 points, far more than staying alive earns. Move into them rather than away.
    2. From full power you last only about a quarter of a second inside a ray of the other colour, so switch before it reaches you, not after.
    3. Before you switch, look for rays of your current colour nearby: after the switch they hurt instead.
    4. Brief touches are not fatal. Power refills on its own, so when the number gets low, find a quiet spot for a few seconds.
    5. After a game over, B starts the next game at once; the game returns to the title by itself after 10 seconds.
