    Overview

Sourdough Solitaire is the patience game also known as Klondike. Twenty-eight cards are dealt into seven columns, only the last card of each face up, and the other twenty-four wait in the stock.

The goal is to move every card onto four piles, one per suit, from ace to king. In the columns, a card can go on one of the next higher rank in the other colour, a run of face-up cards moves together, and only a king can start an empty column. Turn cards from the stock one or three at a time, and choose how often you may go through it.

    Tips

    1. Turn over face-down cards whenever you can: each one is five points and frees more moves. When two moves are possible, take the one from the column with more face-down cards.
    2. Do not empty a column unless a king is ready to fill it. An empty column only takes a king.
    3. Moving a card back down from a suit pile costs points, but it can free a run that is otherwise stuck.
    4. Once the stock is used up and every card is face up, the game plays the rest for you.
