    Overview

    Karts. Nitro. Action! SuperTuxKart is a 3D arcade racer with a variety of characters, tracks, and modes to play. Our aim is to create a game that is more fun than realistic, and provide an enjoyable experience for all ages.

    We have several tracks with various themes for players to enjoy, from driving underwater, rural farmlands, jungles or even in space! Try your best while avoiding other karts as they may overtake you, but don't eat the bananas! Watch for bowling balls, plungers, bubble gum, and cakes thrown by your opponents.

    You can do a single race against other karts, compete in one of several Grand Prix, try to beat the high score in time trials on your own, play battle mode against the computer or your friends, and more!

    Modes

    Regular Race
    All blows allowed, so collect powerups and use them smartly
    Time Trial
    No powerups, so only your driving skills matter
    Follow the leader
    Run for second place: the last kart is disqualified every time the counter hits zero, and passing the leader eliminates you too
    Battle
    Hit the others with weapons: 3 Strikes or Free-For-All
    Soccer
    Push the ball into the goal
    Egg hunt
    Find all the hidden eggs on a track
    Lap Trial
    As many laps as possible in a given time
    Grand Prix
    Several races in a row; the better you rank, the more points you get

    Powerups

    Bubblegum
    A shield, or a sticky puddle behind you when looking back
    Zipper
    A strong speed boost
    Cake
    Thrown at the closest rival; also hits karts close to the explosion
    Plunger
    Pulls an opponent back, or blinds one when thrown looking back
    Bowling Ball
    Goes straight until it strikes and bounces off walls; thrown backwards when looking back
    Parachute
    Slows down all karts in a better position
    Swapper
    Gift boxes turn into bananas and nitro into bubblegum, and the other way round, for a short time
    Basket Ball
    Bounces after the leader, squashing karts on the way
    Swatter
    Squashes karts close by; also removes parachutes and bombs

    Bananas

    Anchor
    Slows the kart down suddenly
    Parachute
    Slows the kart down, harder the faster it goes
    Bomb
    Explodes after a while; bump another kart to pass it on

    Tips

    1. Press accelerate at "Set!", before the race starts, for a startup boost.
    2. Successive short skids help through sharp turns; medium skids boost your speed, long skids more so.
    3. Follow another kart closely for a few seconds and you get a slipstream boost when you overtake it. The lighter your kart, the easier it is.
    4. Lighter karts accelerate faster and get more from nitro; heavier karts reach a higher top speed and shrug off parachutes and explosions better.
    5. In Story Mode every challenge won gives a cup worth points; the harder the difficulty, the more points. Collect enough and Nolok will race you for Gnu's freedom.
    6. Your progress in Story Mode, unlocked karts and tracks, and your settings are kept for your next visit.
