    Overview

Neverball levels are grouped in level sets. There are two ways of progressing through the levels: the Normal mode and the Challenge mode. In Normal mode, no track of lives or balls is kept. Each unlocked or completed level is immediately accessible and can be retried and restarted at any point.

In Challenge mode, the player is given a limited number of balls and attempts to complete all of the levels in turn, starting with the first level. The game ends once the balls run out or the set is completed, and a set score is recorded upon completion. A set may contain bonus levels, unlocked by playing Challenge mode and completing all of the levels leading up to each one; after that, a bonus level is playable in Normal mode too.

The top three fastest times, most coins and fastest unlock scores are kept for each level, and the fastest times and most coins for each set. A set's total time includes both successful and unsuccessful plays, so time-outs and fall-outs count against it.

    Tips

    1. Neverball Easy comes with the game. Add the other sets, and more balls, from Addons on the title screen; the game remembers them on your next visit.
    2. Tilt the floor as little as possible. Less tilt means lower speed, and lower speed means better control.
    3. Flat is relative: learn to hold the floor at an angle so that a slope stays level, and you keep full control of the ball.
    4. When approaching a drop, begin slowing down early. You need just as much room to slow down as you did to speed up.
    5. It is often faster to go around a hole than to fall into it.
    6. On a bouncing level, look at the ball's shadow to know where it will land.
    7. When the ball is on a moving platform it is pulled the way the platform moves. Use the rails to steady yourself.
    8. Watch the motions of bumpers and moving objects before you go: one bump can throw the ball completely out of control.

    Secrets

    Cheat mode

On the title screen, type XYZZY. The Play button turns into Cheat, and you can play any level. On a set's level list, C marks every level done, bonus levels included; during a level, C finishes it and F5 lets you look around. Scores made in cheat mode are kept apart from your real ones. Typing any other letter on the title screen turns it off.
