    Overview

Randocity is a large open-world procedurally generated city motorcycle game with 3 play modes. The city is 256 by 256 blocks, each block 64 by 64 tiles. Assuming a block is 100 m, the random city is about the size of El Paso, Texas.

The city is generated from a random seed, and a given seed always produces the same city, so you can share a seed with a friend to see who does better on the same map.

Paul Wasson made it for the Arduboy in December 2019.

Explore the city at your own pace, with no timer
    Race to the Edge
Start in the middle of the city and reach any edge as fast as you can; the clock counts up
    Crazy Courier
Pick up packages before a 2 minute clock runs out; each one resets it to 2 minutes
    Change Seed
Pick a random seed, the seed of either record, or type one in

    Riding and scoring

    Speed
Each B press adds 2, up to 20; each A press takes off 2
    Off road
Gravel slows you to a stop; press B again and again to get back on the road
    Package
A blinking target on the map, within about 5 blocks of you; it sits on the map's edge when it is farther
    Courier points
The more time left on the clock when you reach a package, the more points
    Countdown
Races start after 3, 2, 1, GO; you cannot move until then
    Records
Fastest Race to the Edge time and best Crazy Courier score, each with its seed

    Tips

    1. Speed only changes when you press, so tap B a few times to get going and you will hold that speed without holding anything.
    2. Turning is in eighths of a turn, and many streets run diagonally. Line up with the road before speeding up, since running onto gravel stops you.
    3. In Crazy Courier, head for a package straight away: points come from the time left, and each pickup gives you a full 2 minutes again.
    4. The packages follow the seed too, so a Crazy Courier run on the same seed starts the same way. Practise a seed and use Change Seed to try it again.
    5. For Race to the Edge, open View Map first and scroll around the middle to find a long straight road heading out.
