    Overview

Gigant has been watching the humans for a long time. When the humans first arrived, Gigant hid and watched them from behind a forest, and was too embarrassed to do introductions on later encounters, so Gigant remained hidden.

Now there are humans everywhere. The water is stinky and the fish are all gone, but the humans must be eating something! Hungry, Gigant resolved to meet them. Help Gigant learn to live with the humans by playing their weird game of 'Golf'.

Gigant Golf is a Game Boy game by quinevere, written in assembly for GB Compo 2023. In the author's words it is kind of like Rampage plus a golf sim, made in a hurry by someone with no experience writing Game Boy games in assembly, so some of the Rampage parts are missing and some of the golf parts are missing too. You can drop a big rock on some little houses, though.

    Tips

    1. The farther the aiming rings sit from the rock, the harder the throw: right sets horizontal power and up sets the height of the arc.
    2. Holding a direction on the D-pad speeds up after a moment, so sweep across with a hold and then tap for the last small adjustments.
    3. The rock can sail above the top of the screen without counting as out of bounds, so high lobs are a safe way to clear tall terrain.
    4. Every shot starts again from the tee rather than where the rock landed, so treat each throw as a fresh attempt at the houses that are left.
    5. The rock flattens any house it touches and keeps on going, so a flat throw that skims along a row of houses, or a landing that rolls through them, can knock down several in one shot.
