    Overview

Warzone 2100 was originally developed by Pumpkin Studios, and released in 1999 as a ground-breaking and innovative 3D real-time strategy game.

In 2004, Eidos (in collaboration with Pumpkin Studios) decided to release the source for the game under the terms of the GNU GPL, followed later by the remaining music and video files. It has been developed, maintained, and improved by the community ever since, under the banner of the Warzone 2100 Project.

When Warzone was released in 1999, it was one of the first real-time strategy games to be in 3D. In real life, money is power, but in Warzone 2100, power is money: you spend power to build structures, manufacture units, and research upgrades and new technology.

    Tips

    1. Power is generated by Power Generators that are fed by Oil Derricks. Each Power Generator uses up to 4 Oil Derricks, so for 10 derricks you need 3 generators.
    2. Power Generators can have a Power Module built on top of them to squeeze out more power, once it has been researched.
    3. Click a friendly structure or truck with weapon units selected and they will move to guard it.
    4. Recycling a unit sends it to the nearest Repair Facility or Factory and refunds half its power; its experience goes to the next unit manufactured.
    5. Units gain experience from kills: higher ranks are more accurate, move faster and take less damage.
    6. VTOLs need VTOL Rearming Pads to reload their weapons.

    Secrets

    Cheat mode

In campaign or skirmish, press Shift and Backspace together, then type cheats into the chat (Enter): "give all" lets you build and research everything, "superpower" gives maximum power, "work harder" finishes the current research, "let me win" wins a campaign mission.

    Clone wars

With cheat mode on, select some units and type "clone wars" for ten copies of each ("clone wars!!" for 135).

    Weather

With cheat mode on, type "john kettley" to change the weather.
