    Overview

Geometrix is a small match-three puzzle game by Antonio Niño Díaz (AntonioND, also known as SkyLyrac). You swap neighbouring shapes on the board to line up rows or columns of three or more of the same geometric form, which then vanish and let the shapes above fall into place. It runs on every Game Boy model, with colour on the Game Boy Color.

Each row or column of 3 is worth 1 point, and a line of 4 counts as two lines of 3 together, so it's worth 2 points, and so on. If removing a line allows another one to be removed, the combo counter goes up and the score of that removal is multiplied by it. The combo can climb as high as 9, but as soon as new shapes come in from the top or the chain stops, it drops back to 1.

There are three game modes. In Remove all the goal is to clear every shape from the board; if only one or two of any form remain, the game can't be finished and you lose. Swap limit and Time limit ask you to score as many points as possible before the swap counter or the clock runs out, and their best scores are saved to a high score table.

    Tips

    1. Every swap is accepted, even one that makes no line, and in Swap limit each one costs a move. Plan the swap that scores before spending one on setup.
    2. In Time limit there is no cost per swap, so quick setup moves that prepare a line for the next swap are worth making while the clock runs.
    3. Points come mostly from chains: a line cleared low on the board makes everything above it drop, which can line up further matches at a growing multiplier. Work near the bottom when you can.
    4. In Remove all, watch the count of each shape. As soon as any kind is down to one or two pieces the game is lost, so clear a kind in groups that leave either zero or at least three behind.
    5. Long lines pay more than separate ones: a line of five is worth three points, the same as three lines of three, but uses a single swap.
