    Overview

Sushi Nights is set in Neo Sushi City, where nights are tough and hunger spares no one, and only the most hardboiled of sheep can deliver sushi fast enough to save the starving inhabitants of this ravaged metropolis. You play as Hitsuji-kun and use your trusty grappling hook to swing through buildings and alleys, locate the sushi, and deliver it to your targets. Every client on the level has to be fed before the clock runs out.

Sushi Nights was made by Zalo, Kirblue, MaikelOrtega_ and sergiodeprado for the 2021 Game Boy competition, gbcompo21, and is built on Zalo's ZGB engine.

    Tips

    1. Your final score adds up the seconds left on every level, times 100, so finishing quickly matters as much as finishing at all.
    2. Build up a swing by holding the direction you are already moving in; each push adds speed, up to a cap. Then let go on the upswing: the release throws you along the arc with doubled upward speed, which covers far more ground than running and jumping.
    3. The swing speed is an angle per frame, so a longer rope carries you much further for the same swing. Reel out with Down before letting go for a long throw, and reel in with Up to lift yourself over a ledge.
    4. Grab rope power-ups early in a level; the extra length lets the hook reach ceilings that are otherwise out of range, and it lasts until the level ends.
    5. Since you can only hold one sushi, plan a loop: pick up the sushi nearest each hungry client rather than collecting in the order you find them.
    6. A fall costs only the time it takes to float back up, but that can be several seconds, so on tight levels take the safer swing over a risky jump.
