    Overview

Adjustris was written in 2005 by Dave VanEe (tbsp) as an entry for the PDRoms Coding Competition 3.33, and refactored for its source release in 2017. It takes a common game type and adds the ability to edit sets of pieces that can then be used in the main game.

The main game is just as you might expect. Pieces fall and must be moved and rotated to form complete horizontal lines, which are then cleared. A new level is reached after every 10 lines and the drop speed increases with every level. Sets 1 to 4 are the included piece sets, while sets 5 to 8 can be edited in the piece editor and start out as a single piece made of a single block.

In the editor you can draw each piece's blocks, move its centre of rotation, choose whether it turns clockwise, counter-clockwise or not at all, make it spin or just wobble back and forth, pick one of 16 tiles for it, and insert or delete pieces. Every set keeps its own 1st, 2nd and 3rd place high scores.

    Tips

    1. Pieces taller than four blocks can clear five or more lines at once for 2000 points, so a custom set with a long straight piece is a way to chase big scores.
    2. Every placed piece also scores one point per block, so sets of large pieces earn more just for dropping them.
    3. Editing a saved set clears its old high scores the next time it is played, unless the only change was the tile graphics, so retile freely but save real changes to a different slot if you want to keep a record.
    4. Delete Piece acts at once with no confirmation, and leaving the editor with Start throws away anything not saved, so use Save Set before you exit.
    5. Pieces set to wobble only ever have two orientations, which makes them easier to place under pressure than ones that spin through four.
